About Victoria

Do What You Love

I have lost myself for hours creating hats. The process is a way to obliterate my fears and find catharsis because you see as a young woman, I lost my hair and found a way to create something that made me feel better about my imperfections.

My hair grew back but I never stopped wearing hats. They make me feel positive about my imperfect body. I liked how people would go out of their way to compliment me on the hat I’m wearing. I just want to share that with other people.

Talk To Me About Your Dream Hat

Love What You Do

Hat making is cloaked in mystery. The moment young Victoria discovered an actual person made hats I wanted to learn everything. This was before the internet so the librarian would borrow books on millinery from other universities for me and I would read them from cover-to-cover. Then when I traveled, I would seek out experienced milliners and sit across the worktable observing.

The process is labor intensive and intricate. The technique dates back centuries using natural materials that are molded into shape. I’m inspired by pure style and how to create a hat that enhances the wearer not distracts. It’s what’s under the hat that’s important and it should compliment what you’re all about.

Stylish Showstoppers

How Did I Get Here

Fast forward to a few years ago- I left architecture and construction to make hats. Everything that I have been designing and making from then to now has been about the way a body engages space.  I’m aware that what we put on to engage the world shouldn’t stop at the neck.

I don’t have the words to elaborate on how my days spent designing buildings ran into evenings spent designing headpieces. Then how it evolved to both days & nights obsessed over the newest problem of how make the broad spectrum of materials turn into a headpiece. I never lose the joy of discovery in my studio. Just like a child, I adore deep working.

A Life With Hats

Victoria Regina has a passion for hats and uses her background in design to create stylish showstoppers for her many clients. Victoria earned a Masters in Architecture followed by twenty years designing airports, museums and practically every form of built environment.  It was during these years in architecture that she came to understand that with an understanding of materiality, one's options are unlimited. This has followed her into her career as a couture milliner that passionately upholds the traditions of millinery, while redefining classic headwear, challenging conventions and technique alike.

Located in the Denver Metropolis area, Miss Victoria Regina’s atelier is brimming with antique and custom-made hat blocks, wool and fur felt capelines/hoods, feathers and exquisite trims. She has adopted a technique in hat making that dates back over 100+ years through steaming and blocking over wooden hat forms. In addition to using traditional millinery/hatter skills, Victoria has mastered the art of hand manipulation of traditional and nontraditional millinery materials creating “sculptures” for the head. Miss Victoria Regina has become known for her dedication to quality and crafting truly one-of-a-kind headpieces.
